IGCSE Physics Tutor Petaling Jaya: Online 1-to-1 Classes

RM80/hr · 1.5-hour classes · No travel, no forms

Written by IGCSEPhysics Specialist Team · Checked against the Cambridge IGCSE Physics (0625) syllabus · Updated

Petaling Jaya runs one of Malaysia’s busiest IGCSE markets, and most of its science teaching happens in crowded group centres along the LDP. We do the opposite: 1-to-1 online classes with a Cambridge IGCSE Physics (0625) specialist, 1.5 hours each at RM80 per hour. Your child’s first hour is a free trial taught on a real syllabus topic.

St. Joseph’s Institution International School sits in Tropicana, Sri KDU International is in Kota Damansara, and Sri Emas in Section 19 has built a name with homeschoolers switching to a structured IGCSE route. Add families at HELP International just across in Subang Bestari and the many PJ homeschool co-ops, and you get thousands of local students sitting 0625 every year.

Is online tuition really better than a PJ tuition centre?

For Physics, usually yes. Centres along the LDP and in SS2 run group classes of ten or more. Your child gets a fraction of the teacher’s attention and the pace follows the middle of the group. In a 1-to-1 online class, every minute targets your child’s actual gaps, whether that is rearranging v = u + at or explaining electromagnetic induction for a B1 mark.

Then there is the commute. PJ traffic is its own subject. The LDP crawls from Kelana Jaya to Kota Damansara from 5 pm. The Federal Highway backs up both directions at peak hours. A “one-hour” centre class easily swallows three hours of a school night. Online classes return that time to homework and sleep.

Who teaches the classes?

Founder Rig has taught IGCSE students for over 8 years with a consistent A/A* record in IGCSE Maths. He does not outsource hiring: he handpicks every Physics tutor and personally matches each student. Tell us your child is in Year 11 at SJIIM aiming for an A on Extended papers, and the match reflects exactly that.

A common objection: “my child needs in-person discipline.” In practice, 1-to-1 online holds attention better than a quiet back seat in a group class. The tutor questions the student constantly, and the shared whiteboard means there is nowhere to hide unfinished working.

We teach anywhere in Selangor

PJ is one of several Selangor areas we serve daily. Students in Subang Jaya, Shah Alam, Puchong, Cyberjaya, Klang and Rawang join the same way. If you move within the Klang Valley mid-year (common for PJ families upgrading houses), the class schedule does not change at all.

Booking the free 1-hour trial

WhatsApp us with your child’s school, year group and the exam session they are working towards. Rig confirms a tutor match, usually within a few days, and schedules the free trial at a time that suits your family. Most PJ students pick a weekday evening after dinner. The trial is a genuine lesson, not a sales pitch. If the teaching does not convince you, you walk away owing nothing.

Questions From Petaling Jaya Families

Do you teach students at international schools in Petaling Jaya like SJIIM or Sri KDU?
Yes. PJ students from St. Joseph's Institution International, Sri KDU, Sri Emas and other international schools make up a large share of our enrolment. Tutors follow each school's topic sequence.
We're in Kota Damansara. Does distance from PJ centre matter?
Not at all. Classes are online, so Kota Damansara, Bandar Utama, SS2, Damansara Jaya and Ara Damansara all get identical access. No one drives the LDP for a lesson.
Can siblings in different IGCSE years share a slot?
We recommend separate 1-to-1 slots because Year 10 and Year 11 cover different ground. Many PJ families book back-to-back sessions on the same evening instead.
